A marketplace for digital ownership is mostly not a contract problem. It is custody, royalties that actually pay out, metadata that does not disappear when someone stops paying a hosting bill, and a buying experience that does not require the customer to already understand wallets. Zelpex builds these with the contracts kept small and audited, and the difficult work handled off chain where it can be maintained.
We build minting, listing, bidding and settlement flows on EVM chains and Solana, with permanent metadata storage, indexing for fast browsing, and royalty enforcement that is honest about what the chain can and cannot guarantee. We also build for utility use cases — tickets, memberships, certificates — where ownership matters more than speculation.
What the token actually entitles the holder to, and how that is honoured off chain. A token conveying rights nobody has committed to deliver is the failure mode worth avoiding first.
Metadata and media go somewhere content-addressed and durable. Assets that vanish because a bucket was deleted are the most common and most embarrassing failure in this space.
On-chain royalty enforcement varies by marketplace and chain. We implement current standards and tell you plainly where they can be bypassed, so the business model is not built on a guarantee that does not hold.
Embedded wallets, card on-ramps and clear pricing in familiar currency, so a buyer who has never held a token can still complete a purchase.
Not universally, and anyone promising otherwise is overselling. Enforcement depends on the marketplace honouring the standard, and several have made it optional. You can enforce within your own marketplace and use transfer-restricting standards where appropriate, but a business model that assumes universal royalties on every venue is fragile.
Content-addressed storage with a durability plan — IPFS with pinning you control, or Arweave for permanence. Pointing a token at a URL on your own server means the asset disappears when that server does, and buyers are right to check this before purchasing.
They should not have to, and that is a product decision more than a technical one. Embedded wallets, social login and fiat on-ramps let someone buy without ever seeing a seed phrase. The trade is custody: you are holding something on their behalf, which carries its own obligations.
Ownership with a purpose — tickets, memberships, certificates, provenance — more often than speculation.
The engineering that decides whether a marketplace works is indexing, storage durability and the buying flow, not the mint function. We keep contracts minimal and audited, and put the effort into the parts users actually touch and the parts that must still work in five years.
